SERVICES — CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
Creative development: WebGL, 3D and interactive websites
WebGL, 3D, motion and real-time interaction: for when a website must be remembered, not just read. Without giving up speed, accessibility or search ranking.
Empatix does creative development: building websites and web experiences where real-time graphics, 3D and interaction are part of the message. The site you are looking at is the first example: the polyhedron on the home page, the title that reacts to the cursor and the Lab simulations all run in your browser.
When it makes sense
An interactive website is not for everyone. It is worth it when:
- the product is better understood by seeing and touching it than by reading a description;
- a launch, an event or a campaign needs to be remembered and get people talking;
- the brand lives on attention to detail and the site has to prove it;
- the customer needs to configure something (colours, materials, sizes) and see the result straight away.
When the goal is simply to inform, a sober, fast website is the right choice, and we will say so.
What we make
- Immersive websites and experiences: 3D scenes, scroll-driven storytelling, page transitions.
- 3D configurators: a product customised in real time, right in the browser.
- Interactive data visualisation: maps, animated charts, simulations.
- Motion and micro-interactions for web apps and digital products: movement that explains what just happened.
- Installations and demos for trade fairs, events and showrooms, on touch screens or large formats.
- Experiments: in the Lab you will find an artificial life simulation and a tiny language model, both with their parameters on screen.
Beautiful, but fast too
A special effect that freezes the user's phone is not a special effect. Every project follows a few rules:
- real content in the HTML: text and links exist even without JavaScript, so Google and AI engines can read them;
- progressive loading: 3D arrives after the content and only if needed;
- animations paused when not visible, to save battery;
- adaptive quality: resolution and detail tuned to the device;
- reduce motion respected: people who enabled it get a still, complete version;
- real measurements: Core Web Vitals checked on actual phones, not just in the office.
Technologies
WebGL and Three.js for 3D, Canvas 2D when that is enough, GSAP and CSS animation for motion, all inside React or Vue applications written in TypeScript. For models and textures we take care of formats and compression, because that is where page weight is decided. The full list is on the technologies page.
Design and development together
In creative development the line between design and code is thin: an animation can only be judged by watching it move. So we work through prototypes, with interface design and development moving forward together, or alongside the agency or studio that conceived the project.
Cost and timing
They depend on the number of scenes and 3D assets to produce, the level of interaction and the devices to support. We start from a prototype of the most important element: it tells you straight away whether the idea works and what it takes to carry it through.
How we work
PHASE 01
Listen
We understand the problem before proposing a solution. Workshops, questions, zero pointless slides.
We work out what should stay in visitors' minds and which devices it has to run on.
PHASE 02
Design
Clickable prototypes in days, not months. You decide on something you can actually touch.
Moodboards and animated prototypes: an interaction can only be judged by watching it move.
PHASE 03
Build
Short sprints, frequent releases. Watch the product grow week after week.
The hardest element first, to check feasibility and performance on real phones straight away.
PHASE 04
Evolve
We don't vanish after launch. We measure, improve and stay by your side.
After launch we measure Core Web Vitals and trim whatever weighs the page down.
Frequently asked questions
What is creative development?
It is web development where graphics, animation and interaction matter as much as features: 3D scenes in the browser, real-time effects, transitions, configurators. It combines programming, graphics and motion design skills.
Is a website with WebGL and animation slow?
Not if it is designed well. Heavy parts load only when needed, loops stop when they are not visible, quality adapts to the device. The goal is to stay within Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds even on mid-range phones.
Does a heavily animated website rank on Google?
Yes, as long as the content is real text in the HTML and not an image inside a canvas. This website is an example: all the text is rendered on the server, and the effects are a layer on top of the content, not a replacement for it.
What about people who do not want, or cannot see, animations?
We respect the system-level "reduce motion" setting: animations stop and the content stays complete and readable. Decorative elements are hidden from screen readers, interactive ones can be used from the keyboard.
Do you work with agencies and design studios?
Yes. We can develop a project designed by others, taking care of the technical side: feasibility, performance, animation and going live.
